We are actively looking for Respiratory Therapists to join our team!

A Respiratory Care Practitioner is responsible for delivering Respiratory Therapy (RT) equipment and services to clients and patients of JKARE Miami.

Responsibilities of the Respiratory Care Practitioner include the following:

  • Assume on-call responsibilities are according to JKARE Miami’s policy.

  • Complete appropriate documentation of client visits, including reports physicians need to gauge the patient’s clinical progress.

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and simple repairs on RT equipment as needed. Arrange to have a piece of equipment repaired by the manufacturer when necessary.

  • Report RT equipment hazards and product incidents as required per JKARE Miami policy.

  • Participate in surveys conducted by authorized inspection agencies.

  • Actively join JKARE Miami’s Performance Improvement program as the Performance Improvement Coordinator requested.

  • Pursue continuing education programs appropriate to job responsibilities. Assist in resolving RT equipment problems under emergency conditions when appropriate.

  • Assist in resolving RT equipment problems under emergency conditions when appropriate.
  • Report any misconduct, suspicious, or unethical activities to the Compliance Officer.

  • Represent JKARE Miami professionally and courteously in all interactions with clients and patients.

  • Deliver and set up Respiratory Therapy or RT equipment, including (but not limited to) oxygen therapy, CPAP/BIPAP, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, and ventilation.

  • Demonstrate the use of RT equipment in the client’s workplace and the patient’s home to ensure that the client, patient, and caregiver know the proper operation of the equipment.

  • Provide ongoing client visits for RT equipment maintenance and revisions to the Plan of Care.

  • Pick up and clean RT equipment as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record for the past three years

  2. A high school diploma or the equivalent

  3. Effective interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills

  4. A graduate of an accredited respiratory care program.

  5. Certified and registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.

    6. Licensed by the state

    7. One year of home medical equipment experience is preferred
